Dealers
Due to the number of applications we have closed to new enquiries about a dealer room table. Please do not buy a Dealers Membership without agreement as it will not be valid for the event and/or you will have to pay the difference in cost for attending.
We are working through the existing applications/correspondence and will let you know as soon as possible.
There are WFC rules about the types of trade that can be a part of the convention.
We are prioritising genre booksellers (independent press/collectible and secondhand/new books) over other types of dealers, but are happy to have a t-shirt seller, some jewellery and a few other artisan makers. We are willing to have a few independent authors, but where these only have a few titles we are suggesting they use the fantasycon table instead. We are also prioritising those who have an existing relationship with Fantasycon or WFC. WFC rules suggest that 1 or 2 tables should be the normal allocation (we are also happy to have half tables if needed) to maximise space, but for some of our larger dealers we can extend that.
We do not want vanity publishers, books/art generated by AI or works where you do not own the Intelectual Property Rights (without consent) e.g. “Fan Art” or “Fan Fiction”. We also do not want mass produced items (as opposed to artisan), costume, games, plushies, toys or to much gaming (rather than writing or art related) content.
If approved you can purchase a Dealer membership via this website. Dealer membership includes 1 attendee and table space (this might be a half or a single table). Further tables will be available should space allow. Staff on your table can purchase a regular attending membership.
Please do also look at our adverts and sponsorship page for ways we can promote your business.
We also have the option for attending authors to put one or two titles for sale on the convention table. There will be a charge for this and commission on any sales. This is available via our shop.
You can also sell books at the mass autograph signing (you will not have access to electricity) and at launches/parties.
Overseas Dealers
It is up to individual dealers to check if they need to pay any import duty or taxes, but here are some resources that might help:
Books are zero rated for Value Added Tax (VAT) in the UK so you may not need to pay this, other items may be subject to VAT:
https://www.gov.uk/guidance/vat-and-overseas-goods-sold-directly-to-customers-in-the-uk
You may need to declare the items as commercial goods at customs or via the government website. Depending on the weight and value of the goods you may be able to make a simple online declaration.
