Walking from Brighton’s main train station to the Convention hotel
Brighton train station, Queens Rd, Brighton and Hove, Brighton BN1 3XP – to -DoubleTree by Hilton Brighton Metropole, Kings Rd, Brighton and Hove, Brighton BN1 2FU
Finding the train station inside Gatwick Airport
There is a train station inside the airport terminal and you can find the “Gatwick Express” train which goes directly to Brighton, the station in the video above! Our Operations Manager, Pat Maher, shows us where everything is.
Trains from central London
There are several options to get from central London to Brighton, however the quickest is to go to LONDON VICTORIA station and take the GATWICK EXPRESS train to Brighton
London Underground – Victoria Station – Gatwick Express train to Brighton – Brighton station
- On the London Underground (the Tube), take the Victoria Line, District Line or Circle Line to VICTORIA STATION.
- Take lift or escalators up following signs for the overground (rail) station
- Take the GATWICK EXPRESS from Victoria rail station to BRIGHTON.
- Train will terminate at BRIGHTON.
- Follow the walking directions video above from the station to the hotel, or take a taxi from the taxi rank outside the station.
Train from Stansted Airport
Travelling to Brighton from Stansted Airport
Stansted Airport station – Greater Anglia overground train towards London Liverpool Street – Tottenham Hale station – Victoria Line train station southbound towards Brixton – Victoria Station – Gatwick Express train to Brighton – Brighton station
- Take lifts or ramp down to Stansted Airport railway station
- Catch the Greater Anglia train towards LONDON LIVERPOOL STREET
- Get off the train at TOTTENHAM HALE STATION (will be announced as ‘for Victoria Line’)
- Take lift or escalator and cross over to exit the overground (rail) station, following signs for the underground. Note: if you take the escalator, you will have to walk down stairs on the other side of the station, if you take the lift, you have a lift down on the other side.
- Take the VICTORIA LINE heading southbound towards Brixton.
- Get off at VICTORIA STATION.
- Take lift or escalators up following signs for overground (rail) station
- Take the GATWICK EXPRESS from Victoria overground station to BRIGHTON.
- Train will terminate at BRIGHTON.
- Walk out of the station and down the hill towards the sea. When you reach the sea, turn right and walk along the sea front to reach the hotel.
- Or take a taxi from the taxi rank outside the station.
Accessible entrances to the convention hotel
There are two accessible entrances at the Metropole.
Wheelchair ramp
For smaller wheelchairs, walkers and frames, there is a ramp to the right of the hotel’s front entrance. There is a push button door opener at the top of this ramp.
Automatic double door entrance
For larger mobility devices, such as scooters, there is a larger automatic door entrance available. This is found down the left hand side of the hotel, in Queensbury Mews, just a short distance.
You can also find this entrance by using the other end of Queensbury Mews, further down the street and this video shows how to do that.

Driving from the M25 to the Convention Hotel Carpark
The simplest route when driving to the parking garage for the DoubleTree by Hilton Brighton Metropole. Shown from Junction 7 to the parking on St Margaret’s Place, Brighton, BN1 2FD. The street number is approximately 9, if this is required by GPS.
