Author of 'The Department of Certainty'. Sue is intrigued by the fact that we have no access to most of what is going on in our brains. How is it that we make choices? Why are we responsible for our actions?  She wrote the novel because she wanted to read a fictional narrative that covered this territory but had been unable to find one.  Sue’s background is in social work, but finds time to enjoy playing the boardgame Go and auditioning her runner beans for the annual Flower & Produce Show.
