Sarah Avery's first book, Tales from Rugosa Coven, won the 2015 Mythopoeic Fantasy Award. Her short fiction has appeared in Beneath Ceaseless Skies, Fantasy Scroll, Black Gate, and elsewhere. An escaped academic, she survived a Ph.D. in modernist poetry. Grants from the Arts and Humanities Council of Montgomery County and the Maryland State Arts Commission enabled her to make her short fiction backlist available in e-book editions and support her work in progress.
