Former journalist, editor, planner, and farmer, M Turville Heitz published short fiction before taking a break to collect a PhD and teach science communications, anthropology and folklore to undergrads. Author of fantasy novels BLACK RIVER (Mystique Press, 2024) and THE ENCHANTER'S WEB trilogy (Oakland Hills, 2025). She lives on a defunct farm in southern Wisconsin where she coddles chickens and is kept by cats.
