Marisa is a history professor turned prize-winning novelist. Her YA fantasy/folk horror, The Binding Spell, won the Times/Chicken House writing competition, and was published in May 2025. Her dark academia novel for adults, Circle of Shadows,is about a young woman who becomes an occult detective in Edwardian Britain. It is first of a historical fantasy series featuring occult detection,and was published on 9 October 2025.
