Gary K. Wolfe is an award-winning science fiction critic and Emeritus Professor at Roosevelt University. His books include Soundings, Bearings, Sightings, Evaporating Genres, The Known and the Unknown, Harlan Ellison (with Ellen Weil), and American Science Fiction: Nine Classic Novels of the 1950s (editor). His lecture series How Great Science Fiction Works is available from The Great Courses, his reviews appear in Locus magazine, and he co-hosts The Coode Street Podcast with Jonathan Strahan.
