Alvanita (she/her) is a lecturer at Universitas Gadjah Mada, Indonesia, and a PhD researcher at Coventry University Inspired early on by Harry Potter and The Lord of the Rings, she developed an interest for fantasy and fantastic fiction. Alongside her academic work, she is also a fan of anime, particularly the isekai genre. Her research interests include children’s literature, folklore, mythology, and picturebooks, and she is currently working on death studies to examine how stories address loss
