Infectious Disease Policy

The UK is currently a place where covid and other infectious diseases are not generally mitigated for, which makes putting in place strict rules about masking or distancing really difficult.

We require our attendees to:

  • Respect other attendees’ space. If there is no reason to stand or sit close to them, please don’t. Our panel rooms are quite large: please do spread out if possible, only moving closer if numbers in the room increase.
  • Not physically touch people without consent (e.g. to hug them).
  • Respect others’ right to wear a mask.
  • Not to attend if they are unwell.
  • Understand that people may have allergies or non-infectious conditions.

We ask our attendees:

  • To be vaccinated for Covid 19 and seasonal Flu where possible.
  • To wash hands with soap or hand sanitizer regularly.
  • To consider wearing a mask or face covering in close or crowded spaces. We will have spare masks if anyone would like one.
  • Not to linger in corridors or close spaces. There are better areas to stop and chat. Our social area is in a very large room, so is a better place to socialise than corridors and smaller function rooms.
  • Not to have or attend parties in small spaces, such as hotel bedrooms.
  • To test for Covid 19 before the event – tests are available cheaply from UK pharmacies.
  • If you are using public transport to get to the event, please do consider wearing a mask or face-covering for the duration of your journey and in crowded transport hubs.
