Day Attendances

Would you like to attend World Fantasy Convention in Brighton, but can only make one day?

The World Fantasy Board have recently approved a new policy, meaning that we can sell a limited number of Day Attendances (tickets). These will be on sale about 6 weeks before the event itself.

Which Day?

There will be a wide selection of panels, talks, presentations, author readings and workshops taking place over the four-day convention. The Dealers’ Room will offer new, second-hand and antiquarian books, magazines and comics, while the Art Show will have art and prints for sale as well as to view.

There will be a private bar for convention attendees, offering food and drink, as well as providing a comfortable area for meeting and socialising. There will be receptions and social events as well, including the Mass Autograph session and the Art Reception. There will be complimentary refreshments served at these events. The full programme will be available about a month before the event.

Once published, the programme should still be considered draft; no attendee or Guest’s presence is guaranteed and no refunds will be offered as a result of changes to guests or the schedule.

Some of the larger events are already being planned:

Thursday – Registration, the Dealers’ Room and Art Show will open in the afternoon. Panels and readings will start from mid/late afternoon. There will be an opening ceremony and a social event in the evening.

Friday – Registration, the Dealers’ Room and Art Show will be open. Panels and readings will take place during the day (from 10 a.m.). The Mass Autograph session will take place in the evening.

Saturday – Registration, the Dealers’ Room and Art Show will be open. Panels and readings will take place during the day from 10 a.m. There will be an Art Reception. The British Fantasy Awards take place in the evening followed by Karaoke (sponsored by Rebellion).

Sunday – Registration, the Dealers’ Room and Art Show will be open. Panels and Readings will take place during the morning (from 10 a.m.)The World Fantasy Banquet will take place in the early afternoon (requires separate ticket), followed by the World Fantasy Awards. The in-person event will finish by 6 p.m.

The cost of the Attendance varies:

• Thursday £50
• Friday £85
• Saturday £85
• Sunday £65

There will be £5 discount for British Fantasy Society members and a £10 discount for full time student/people who are unwaged.

Nomination rights (World Fantasy & British Fantasy Awards) and Online access will not be included with a Day Attendance. You can buy an online membership in addition to a day attendance.

If you wish to attend the World Fantasy Awards Banquet on the Sunday you will need either a membership or a Sunday Attendance as well as the Banquet ticket. You do not need to attend the Banquet to attend the Awards Ceremony itself.

Day attendances will be available from the Shop about 6 weeks before the event.
